They want the house to be maintained, so they will take on someone who they believe is reputable and trustworthy. If they trust the person, then this will turn out to be a win-win deal for both sides. The owner of the house gets the house maintained throughout the year, and they do not have to worry about cutting the grass, etc. Also, they do not have to worry about security issues such as someone breaking into their house because they know that it is vacant. For the lucky person who gets to stay inside the house throughout the year, they will get the opportunity to live in a huge house by themselves. Furthermore, they will not have to pay extra. They are basically getting lodging for free. Who would say no to that?
Live in jobs are especially popular in Great Britain. In the United States, it is not nearly as popular, but it is slowly starting to catch on. Hopefully soon, we will start seeing more of these jobs available for us all. Also, this would help stimulate the economy, and we know the economy right now needs all the help that it can get.
